I tried Sugar Life without a translation first… and yeah, not the best idea.
The mod itself is actually pretty detailed. It’s not just “new interactions,” it’s more like a whole system where your Sim gets into arrangements, expectations, gifts, money… all that. But the problem is, if you don’t fully get the text, you kinda miss the point.
That’s where the German translation helps more than I expected.
What It Fixes
It’s not adding anything new, but it clears up a lot:
- you know what kind of relationship you’re agreeing to
- you understand what the other Sim expects
- you don’t accidentally pick the wrong option
Before that, I was just clicking things to see what happens. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t.
Feels Less Random
Once everything is in German, the mod feels way less chaotic.
You start noticing patterns. Like, okay, this choice leads here, that one changes the relationship, this one affects money or mood. It actually starts to feel like a system instead of random events.
Is It Necessary?
Not 100%, but… if you’re playing Sugar Life seriously, it kinda is.
Especially because the whole mod is based on communication and choices. If you don’t understand those, you’re missing half of it.
It’s one of those things you don’t think about much. Just a translation.
But after using it for a while, going back without it feels weird. Like something’s missing.
